Sweet Music Lounges

Music plays such an important role in our lives. For me personally, when I hear certain songs it transports me to a memory, evokes a feeling, or just makes me want to move!

Tears for Fears’ Everybody Wants to Rule the World makes me instantly sing at the top of my lungs and immediately my mood is shifted. Ray Lamontagne – Cozy vibes, a glass of red wine, and relaxing. Bill Withers’ Lovely Day… don’t even get me started. Indescribable happiness!

Lately, we’ve had clients request specific special areas for their love of music, and it’s so fun to design and make them functional and beautiful.

For both of these projects we are about to showcase, we dedicated a special spot in the home for record collections and collectibles including a spot for their record player to be displayed proudly. Two different styles and aesthetics: one goal – a celebration of music and incorporating it into daily life.

Moody & Traditional

This homeowner has a large (and growing) record collection as well as a lovely collection of pottery, ceramics, art deco treasures, books, and art. We wanted to create a luxe moody space that wrapped you in a lush hug.

What was once a “dining area” for this condo, we transformed into a music lounge. Floor to ceiling custom built-ins wraps the space, with the perfect spots for special items and of course, the music!

Light, Airy & Well Traveled

For this family, we created a really fun space within their living room to house their record collection as well as art and special items collected throughout travels and different places they have lived!

This home leans more modern with a mid-century flair, so we wanted the built-in to feel like an extension of that. What could have been a blank area with a random piece of furniture or art, is now a customized space for all their music needs!
