Finding Your Work From Home Style

I think we all were surprised when the world shifted to a work from home mentality all at once. There were a lot of takeaways from this new procedure. For me, it helped me focus on my organization, delegation, and communication. Keeping my team on track, focused, and efficient while we all worked remotely was daunting, however, also rewarding when I realized a lot of the things I do have in place, work well and we were able to pivot in these new times.

However, the importance of your space plays a large role in your efficiency, creativity, and focus. Here are a few work-from-home scenarios to inspire you to make your space work for you.

STORAGE TO THE MAX + COLOR

Custom built-ins make for the best solution when you have many things to store and conceal! Don’t feel like you have to stick to the typical colors of wood or white – you can have fun and add some real color to your space!

Lovely lighting placed perfectly, a tv and computer location makes for a great place to get things complete. Adding a lovely little sitting area for small phone conversations or guests makes it even more approachable and versatile.

BLENDING OLD WITH NEW

One of my favorite things to do is have fun with different eras of design. For this home office, we combined the homeowner’s antique Arts & Crafts furniture with Art Déco pairings throughout.

Have some fun with bold wallpaper, fabrics, and other elements to really add pizzaz to your space – don’t be afraid to mix different styles that make you happy!

MULTI-USE WORK FROM HOME

Sometimes with design, we have to make a room multi-functional. Here is the perfect example of that.

A lovely sitting room for guests, entertaining pair seamlessly with the two custom built-in workstations flanking the windows. This space combines style, storage, and flexibility.

SMALL SPACE MAGIC

For myself, I currently rent a cute little historic home, because I don’t have a ton of space (however, I have a ton of clothes, shoes, and accessories) so, the second bedroom I decided to transform into my dressing room and home office. I enjoy getting dressed daily and putting outfits together, however, I also needed a place to work and focus. So I decided to create a hybrid of both. It works great for my personal needs without breaking the bank for a rental property and I have the option to bring it all with me.

What kind of work from home style do you think will work best for you? Do you need a very specific office space? Or something with a bit more flexibility?

How are you pivoting to take on all the tasks?
