UNIQUE

THE BELOVED OTTOMAN

Ottomans. They are popping up everywhere. Large, small, round, square, single, paired. You name it and it can be made into an ottoman.

Well, truthfully, myself personally, I love those little (or sometimes big) fellas! You can bet, if I'm your designer, and if I can find a spot for it, you're getting an ottoman. One of the best things I like about ottomans is how you can truly customize your space with them.

And don't even get me started on the functionality factors of an ottoman. Storage? Check. Extra seating? Check. A place to put your feet up after a tired day? Check. And excuse to use an extra fabulous textile in your space? Double check.

Here are a few spaces that I trusted in my beloved ottomans.

Covered in a golden velvet and garnished with a leather damask, this over sized ottoman does not spare beauty for it's functionality.

For this media room, we had a large space to fill, so we had a custom ottoman covered in extremely durable metallic snakeskin, comfy and stylish for movie nights!

A velvet geometric is the perfect oval addition to our clients sitting area in her master bedroom.

Pairing a pop of pink in this super chic space made for a great floorplan for an entertaining space in this formal living room.

Once again, a lovely pair. This golden velvet texture plays so nicely with the area rug. We were smitten! Not only is is extra seating and a spot to prop your feet, but these ottomans also double as storage too.

So what do you think? Do we have you considering ottomans in every nook and cranny of your home? Have fun with them, pair them, tuft them, put sexy feet on them. Whatever your heart desires!

ART AS HOME DECOR

When the idea of incorporating art into home decor comes up, the concept can be daunting. Most people may think of art as a Warhol in the living room or a Pollock hanging above a mantel. In other words, not an achievable goal for everyone.

But art is so much more than the classics, the greats and the completely unaffordable.

It can be a statement headboard that adds an unexpected flare to a bedroom…

Maybe you prefer a more modern and bold statement? Get creative with how you create your stripes, it doesn't have to be so literal through wallpaper or paint, just think about how you lay out your materials. They created the perfect stripe look with paint and the modern cabinets. Plus, we can't ignore the beautiful natural wood stripes the planks create!
