INJECT A LITTLE SOUTHERN CHARM TO YOUR INTERIOR
Every once in a while I get the pleasure of visiting different cities and taking in all its history and charm! Charleston has always been at the top of my list, and luckily it did not disappoint. There is this eery yet beautiful calm while walking down the historic streets, and I couldn’t help but envision the architectural beauty awaiting behind each door .
I pictured winding staircases, millwork for days, aged marble, antique chandeliers, layers of pattern and color on wallpaper and furnishing. I imagined if ever given the opportunity to design such a space, how paying homage to the past and present would marry so well in spaces such as these. I believe there is a way to still achieve a classic design while adding a bit of new age flair.
So! I dreamt up my own dining room for this historic home in Charleston, one adorned with classic chinoiserie pattern juxtaposed with more geometric elements. Bringing in the soft muted tones and accenting with pops of color. The push and pull of the space keeps it timeless and stunning all at the same time.
Till next time!
