Amy Marshall, creative owner and designer of Strands of Sunshine

Recently, one of our favorite local shops Strands of Sunshine decided to take a leap and move into an even larger and better retail space, we were so excited when the owner Amy gave us a call and asked for our guidance in helping her transition into her new space!

Amy's main concern was moving into a larger space with such small product. She wanted to take her brand up a notch and have a more cohesive design for her space. So we got to work with a color consultation, inspired by Strands of Sunshine's business cards and the beautiful patina tile on the floor we came up with this color palette:

Up next was a floor plan and finding a few anchoring pieces for her small, but precious product. In addition to her jewelry that she handcrafts, Amy also carries product from other local talent, like artist and hand poured candles (they smell quite divine, our favorite is "5:00 somewhere"!) She found some great key furniture pieces from our awesome local vintage market Brocante Vintage Market. (If you haven't been to that yet... we highly suggest you go, thank us later!)

So anyhow, back to the layout:

The whole concept behind Amy's store is handmade sunny goodness, we think the new shop reflects that so well.

Here are some close up images of her beautiful pieces:

Make sure you stop by and visit Strands of Sunshine for yourself, we promise you will feel the happiness the instant you walk in the door. And make sure you tell Amy hello for us!

Below are a few words from Amy about her experience with us!

My handcrafted jewelry shop, Strands of Sunshine, has been open for a little over a year, and we recently had the exciting opportunity to move into a larger store front. I contacted Lisa for her design expertise because I wanted the new space to be wonderful, and I knew it was important to consult a professional. Lisa understood my brand and the overall feel I wanted to achieve, and from the very first color consultation I knew she was going to nail it. Lisa helped me with wall and furniture color, furniture selection, and layout/space planning. She also suggested several ideas that we implemented in the space, such as painting my logo on a back wall to fill a void, adding a full length mirror, and other details. She was always timely when responding to my emails or phone calls, she made it a point to be at the shop on move-in day to finalize furniture placement, and was a total professional to work with. Not only am I extremely happy with the results, but my customers and shop visitors have been raving about the way the shop looks! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lisa Gilmore Design to anyone looking for design services for personal or business needs, from smaller spaces like mine up to large-scale projects.
